Tips & Instructions
PlantWallBox is completely versatile and can easily be installed inside any secure wall in homes, offices or attached to the outside of buildings.
PlantWallBox’s design allows the care taking to be as low maintenance as possible while growing natural plants.
Planting & Designing
1. CHOOSE YOUR PLANTS
When deciding which plants to choose for your indoor green wall, you need to consider a few things like: how much sunlight the plants will be exposed to, the water needs of your plants and the size of your plants (not more than 9 cm).
2. CHOOSE YOUR DESIGN
Get creative and design your own plant picture. When you are ready to plant, cover the water drainage compartment at the bottom of the box in order to prevent any soil spilling into it.
3. PLACE YOUR PLANT
Plant your chosen plants in each cell and fill the cell up with soil matching the needs of your plants. If you choose a design where you have cells with no plants, make sure to fill the cell with soil. (Tip: Try and finish your design with moss for decoration).
4. FILL SOIL AND SECURE PLANT
Plant your chosen plants in each cell and fill the cell up with soil matching the needs of your plants. If you choose a design where you have cells with
no plants, make sure to fill the cell with soil. (Tip: Try and finish your design with moss for decoration).
Make sure to water before hanging up your fully planted box. If the soil is too dry it could result in some loose soil spilling (see watering).
6. DECORATE WITH MOSS
If you like you can fill up the empty boxes or corners with moss and give the box extra decoration.
1. WATERING AFTER PLANTING
Water the box on the ground and wait 3-4 hours to let the soil and plants settle before hanging the box on the wall
When lifting the box, the water will collect at the bottom of your box, make sure the plug is secured.
2. WATERING WHILE HANGING
Make sure you water slowly.
Do not water faster than the soil can absorb (the drainage compartment can take a maximum of 250 ml).
Have a dry cloth ready in case you experience spilling of water.
When done watering, empty the excess water from the build-in drainage system by removing the plug from the bottom hole.
Have a cup ready to collect the water.
There is room for 250 ml water in the excess water collector.
- Water the plants regularly and often.
- Use a water-spray once in a while if the surface soil gets too dry.
- Remove dead leaves when needed to keep your plant wall looking fresh.
- Give your plants some nutrition (fertilizer) from time to time.
- Alternatively, you can take the box down and water the plants lying horizontally on the ground.
